Job description

The Nursing Assistant provides compassionate patient care to a diverse age group of patients with a variety of medical and/or surgical conditions. This individual provides direct patient care and works collaboratively with other patient care team members including the patient and family, to achieve optimal patient outcomes. The Nursing Assistant assists with activities of daily living and delegates patient care treatments and procedures. The Nursing Assistant has access to confidential patient information and carries out their assignments under the guidance of a licensed nurse.

Minimum Education Requirement

High school graduate or equivalent.

Minimum Experience Requirement

Prefer at least 2 years of CNA experience. Basic computer skills.

Minimum License Requirement

High School graduate or equivalent. SC Nurse Aide Certification OR passed fundamentals in RN/LPN school OR completed Surg Tech or EMT course OR completed 2-year Health Science Technology Program OR completed Patient Care Tech course OR successfully completed a PCT program at SRH, OR Graduate of an accredited nursing assistant program, certification eligible. Must achieve certification within 3 months of hire. BLS certified.

Physical Requirement/Working Conditions

May have irregular hours and long periods of standing. Should be able to lift up to 50 pounds and will seek assistance when heavier objects need to be lifted.
