In Recovery information

What does it mean to be in recovery?

Being 'in recovery' typically refers to someone who is working to overcome addiction, mental health issues, or other life challenges. It means they are actively taking steps to improve their health and well-being, often through therapy, support groups, or medical treatment. Recovery is an ongoing process that involves making positive lifestyle changes, developing coping skills, and building a support network. People in recovery may still face setbacks, but they are committed to maintaining their progress and personal growth.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a substance abuse counselor, and why are they important?

Building strong communication skills and collaborating with clinical teams can help Recovery Coaches provide consistent, effective support to those in recovery.
