Job description

ย Responsible for the operation of CMM inspection programs within the Quality Department. This position is also responsible for ensuring procedures are followed, resolving quality related issues with our customers and employees, the generation of reports, the tracking of data, and the recommendation of process improvements in a fast-paced environment. Also is responsible for the finalization of all work orders, first articles, and customer submittal documentation packages by performing the following duties..


Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Perform incoming, in-process, and final inspections to verify products meet purchase orders, engineering drawings, customer requirements, and AS9100 standards.
  • Conduct dimensional inspections using precision measuring equipment and Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM) equipment; CMM experience is preferred and considered a strong plus.
  • Assist with setup, operation, and execution of CMM programs to verify machined parts meet engineering specifications.
  • Perform both CMM and bench inspections as required to ensure compliance and product conformity.
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, specifications, and work instructions to verify part configuration and marking requirements.
  • Verify part marking for correctness, legibility, and proper location when applicable.
  • Complete First Article Inspections (FAIRs) in accordance with AS9100 and customer-specific requirements, including submission through required customer portals.
  • Review certifications, material documentation, and process records for accuracy, completeness, and compliance.
  • Ensure work orders are completed accurately, including quantities, traceability, and required documentation.
  • Scan, save, and maintain work orders, certifications, and inspection records within company systems.
  • Maintain documentation and control of non-conforming material/products when required.
  • Report deviations, discrepancies, and nonconformances to Quality Management and assist with corrective actions.
  • Utilize and navigate Net-Inspect and other quality management systems as required.
  • Collaborate with production and cross-functional departments to improve product quality and assist in interpretation of inspection results.
  • Maintain cleanliness, organization, and proper upkeep of the CMM equipment and inspection area.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives and perform additional duties as assigned by Quality Management.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; technical or trade school education preferred.
  • Minimum 2+ years of quality inspection experience in a manufacturing or aerospace environment preferred.
  • Experience with Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM) operation and/or programming is highly preferred and considered a strong plus.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, GD&T, specifications, and work instructions.
  • Knowledge of AS9100 quality standards and First Article Inspection (FAIR) requirements preferred.
  • Familiarity with inspection tools and measuring equipment such as calipers, micrometers, height gauges, thread gauges, and comparators.
  • Experience performing dimensional inspections on machined parts and assemblies.
  • Working knowledge of Net-Inspect or similar quality management systems preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to identify nonconformances and ensure documentation accuracy.
  • Ability to review certifications, material traceability documents, and customer specifications.
  • Basic computer skills including Microsoft Office and electronic document management systems.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills with the ability to work effectively across departments.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, work independently, and maintain accuracy in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Must be able to maintain confidentiality and follow company quality and safety procedures.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods as required
