Job description

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
  • Inspects incoming materials and parts visually and mechanically from outside vendors to ensure conformance to specifications and certifications.

  • Performs in-process inspection of parts and operations at any stage of production.

  • Performs finished parts inspection prior to shipping to confirm specifications have been met.

  • Performs inspections as required using height gauges, micrometers, indicators, tape measures, calipers, optical comparators, and scales.

  • Prepares parts and respective paperwork for customer or source inspection.

  • Creates legible Inspection Reports recording the results of inspection and keeps documentation organized.

  • Supports other Quality Department tasks as needed.

  • Supports the overall business through the timely completion of inspection and documentation tasks.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience in a similar role.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE (Not required):
  • Material handling and Forklift experience preferred.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
  • Strong time management and commitment to get the job done.

  • Maintains accuracy and attention to detail.

  • Ability to read simple blueprints/sketches.

  • Must have a good understanding of basic arithmetic such as addition and subtraction of whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Ability to move about a large manufacturing facility.

  • Constantly communicating with others to exchange information.

  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

  • Must be able to lift, push, and pull up to 40 pounds.

  • Must be able to wear PPE as necessary (safety glasses, hearing protection, steel toe shoes, etc.).

WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Majority of work is performed in a manufacturing environment with noise levels within safety limits and acceptable lighting and temperature conditions.
