Job description

Bonds a variety of dissimilar materials (composite or metal) assemblies, parts, skins, components, or structures into semi-finished or finished products. Lays out articles, cuts parts or materials to size. Applies liquid or solid bonding agents.  Performs bagging and debulking processes.  May operate autoclave, hot bonders, and ovens to complete bonding cycle. Controls conditions of heat, pressure, and timing by setting and operating various controls according to the specifications for the materials and the bonding agent being used. Sands, deburrs, and smooths over areas; applies sealing resins to cut or exposed edges. Monitors and verifies quality of finished product. Completes repairs on composite, metal, or laminate bonded products using inspection and rework instructions.

  Follow company policies and procedures.

  Follow directions and/or instructions, as directed.

  Familiar with Internal Customer Interfaces, as defined by the process assigned.

  Process forms and document work by utilizing their endorsement, in accordance with the Quality Management System.

  Notify immediate supervisor of any suspected un-airworthy condition noted while performing their duties.

  Acquire and maintain hand tools, if necessary, to complete work assigned.

  Clean, disassemble and identify components, with normal supervision.

  Have a good understanding of blueprints, technical manuals, and planning documents with normal supervision.

  Apply different types of conversion coatings and sealants using different types of tools and methods with normal supervision.

  Works in conjunction with higher grade mechanics to further their job knowledge base through OJT with normal supervision.

  Cleans work area, when required with minimal supervision.

  Read and understand blueprints and technical manuals.

  Accomplish basic repairs with normal supervision.

  Have a basic understanding of computer processes involved in daily operations.

  Other various duties, as assigned.

  Read, write, and understand English fluently.

  Ability to learn and understand and communicate effectively in writing and verbally.
