Nox Group owns and operates Corbins, RMCI, Nox Innovations, and Construction Labels, and our teams set the standard as industry leaders. As we continue to expand our reach nationwide, we seek people who are passionate about personal growth and eager to make a positive impact throughout the industries and communities we serve. We prioritize our people, our partners, and our relationships. Start your journey today and join our skilled team.
We are seeking a Pipe Layer to support some of the most innovative, complex, and large-scale data center and mission-critical construction projects in the country. This role will be instrumental in delivering RMCI's first-generation programs as a General Contractor within hyperscale and enterprise data center environments.
As a Pipe Layer, you will be responsible for the installation, repair, and maintenance of underground pipelines and associated infrastructure. This role is crucial in ensuring the proper functioning of water, sewer, drainage, and utility systems in construction projects.
Responsibilities:
  • Pipe Installation: Lay and install pipes, conduits, and drainage systems according to blueprints, specifications, and project requirements.
  • Excavation and Trenching: Dig and prepare trenches using hand tools and machinery such as excavators and trenchers, ensuring proper depth and slope for pipes. Shoring up trenches to prevent collapses and ensure safety.
  • Pipe Alignment: Align and position pipes for connections and join sections of pipes together using welding, cementing, bolting or other methods as required.
  • Backfilling and Compaction: Backfill trenches and compact earth to secure pipes in place, ensuring stability and preventing shifting or damage.
  • Quality Control: Inspect and test installed pipes for leaks, damages, or defects, and make necessary adjustments or repairs to ensure compliance with safety and quality standards.
  • Safety Compliance: Follow all safety procedures and guidelines to maintain a safe working environment for yourself and team members, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE). Shoring up trenches to prevent collapses and ensure safety.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate records of work performed, materials used, and hours worked for project reporting and billing purposes.
  • Team Collaboration: Coordinate with construction crews, supervisors, and other tradespeople to ensure efficient workflow and timely completion of projects.

Skills and Qualifications:
  • Experience: Proven experience in pipe laying, preferably in a construction or utility infrastructure setting.
  • Knowledge: Understanding of underground utilities, construction techniques, and safety regulations related to pipe installation.
  • Physical Ability: Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting heavy materials, digging, and working in confined spaces.
  • Attention to Detail: Precision and accuracy in pipe alignment and installation to ensure functionality and longevity of infrastructure.
  • Communication Skills: Effective communication skills to follow instructions, relay information to team members, and work collaboratively on projects.

Working Conditions:
  • Environment: Work is primarily outdoors in various weather conditions, including exposure to dirt, dust, noise, and potentially hazardous materials.
  • Schedule: Full-time, with overtime and weekend work possible based on project deadlines and requirements.

Safety Level
This is a safety sensitive position, and all applicable policies including drug test and background check will apply.
  • The inherent responsibilities of your role may include physical working conditions. In order to safely and successfully perform job duties you must be able to:
    • Potentially lift up to 50 pounds
    • Potentially need to do repeated pushing, pulling, carrying, reaching (or working above shoulder), walking, standing, sitting, stooping, kneeling, bending, and climbing
    • Potentially operate a motor vehicle, crane, tractor, etc.
  • We reserve the right to continually monitor your ability to safely and successfully complete these inherent physical responsibilities and take action as deemed appropriate in accordance with the Americans with Disability Act (ADA)
