Job description

In collaboration with the managers of HMBP Inc., the candidate will be responsible for maintaining the established international division in the Philippines, which currently serves HMBP Inc.'s clientele.

Initially, the selected candidate will act as a liaison between the teams in Montreal and those in the Philippines. The candidate will be in charge of training and managing the subcontractors based in the Philippines to ensure they can meet the needs of the partners and directors in Montreal. To do this, the candidate will need to gain a comprehensive understanding of the requirements of these individuals, as well as, ultimately, of HMBP Inc.'s clientele, and be exposed to them.

The second main objective for the candidate will be to establish a division owned by HMBP Inc. in the Philippines through a Canadian company, with the aim of gradually phasing out the subcontracting model and thereby reducing HMBP Inc.'s reliance on external subcontractors. The candidate will need to set up their team in Montreal, subject to approval by HMBP Inc. management.


  • Be functionally trilingual, an asset: French, English, Tagalog.
  • Hold a bachelor's degree in accounting
  • Possess the CPA designation in Canada or the Philippines, an asset
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in an accounting firm or corporate environment
  • Possess a solid understanding of current legislation and regulations in the Philippines
  • Have a good understanding of the regulatory services in place in the Philippines and have been exposed to them in previous professional experiences
  • Exposure to the payroll accounting cycle and its functioning in the Philippines is a plus
  • Some experience and skills in team management, including coaching and training
  • Good knowledge of various accounting software (such as QuickBooks, Simple Accounting, and MS Office software) or the ability to demonstrate the capacity to acquire such knowledge
  • Excellent knowledge of Taxprep and Caseware software
  • Ability to work under pressure while respecting deadlines and commitments
  • Capable of producing accounting documents in French in writing; speaking French is an asset
  • Experience working with healthcare professionals is an asset
