Orkin is hiring motivated individuals to join our team as Pest Control Technicians.
No pest control experience is required. If you've worked in maintenance, construction, HVAC, landscaping, lawn care, agriculture, facilities, home improvement, delivery, customer service, hospitality, retail, military, or another hands-on or field-based job, you may already have many of the skills needed to succeed.
We'll teach you the pest control side of the job through paid, hands-on training and help you obtain the required state pesticide license.
As an Orkin Pest Control Technician, you'll work in the field rather than behind a desk. You'll drive a company vehicle to customer locations, inspect homes and businesses, identify pest problems, perform pest control services, solve problems, and build relationships with customers.

What You'll Do:
As a Pest Control Technician, you'll provide professional pest management services to residential and commercial customers throughout your assigned service area.
Your day may include:
  • Drive a company vehicle to customer homes and businesses throughout your assigned route.
  • Inspect homes, businesses, and properties for signs of pests, insects, rodents, and other pest activity.
  • Identify pest issues and determine appropriate treatment and prevention solutions.
  • Perform interior and exterior pest control services using company-provided products, tools, and equipment.
  • Treat common household pests such as ants, spiders, cockroaches, wasps, and other insects.
  • Explain your findings and recommendations clearly to customers.
  • Provide professional customer service and pest prevention advice.
  • Manage your daily route and appointments while working independently.
  • Use a smartphone or tablet to document services, complete reports, and communicate with customers.
  • Safely operate and maintain company vehicles, tools, and equipment.
  • Follow company safety procedures and applicable pesticide regulations.
  • Work in a variety of environments, including homes, businesses, garages, basements, crawl spaces, attics, and outdoor areas.
  • Build positive customer relationships and represent the Orkin brand professionally.

Qualifications
Pest Control Experience Is NOT Required
We'll provide the training you need to learn pest control.
Experience in maintenance, construction, HVAC, landscaping, lawn care, agriculture, home improvement, facilities, property maintenance, field service, delivery, route service, customer service, or other hands-on work can translate well to this position.
Minimum Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Valid driver's license and good driving record
  • Ability to obtain the appropriate state pesticide license within the first 90 days of employment; company-paid training provided
  • Ability to safely climb and work from ladders within the manufacturer's weight capacity
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to safely access crawl spaces, attics, confined spaces, basements, rooftops, and other challenging environments
  • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
  • Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE), which may include an OSHA-compliant respirator
