Johnstown offers a charming small-city atmosphere nestled in the scenic Allegheny Mountains of southwestern Pennsylvania. The area provides excellent outdoor recreation opportunities and a lower cost of living while maintaining access to quality healthcare facilities and educational institutions.
Facility:
This medical center is a Level 1 trauma facility featuring a 16-bed NICU III A unit that can accommodate up to 20 patients. The facility maintains one full-time neonatologist supported by five mid-level providers who are in-house 24/7, ensuring comprehensive patient care and professional support.
Opportunity:
Physician (MD) - Pediatrics - Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine
Job Details:
• Provide additional coverage approximately one week per month for ongoing locum needs
• Manage average daily census of 9-11 infants in the NICU with approximately 20 admissions per month
• Responsible for NICU rounds and 24/7 on-call coverage during assigned periods
• Attend high-risk deliveries and C-sections only (not all deliveries)
• Participate in outpatient clinic every Thursday with up to 7 patients
• Work schedule: 8AM-4PM in-house with 20-minute on-call response time
• Must maintain Pennsylvania medical license or IMLC eligibility
• Board certification required with ABLS, ACLS, ATLS, BLS, and PALS certifications
• Fellowship training required with 30-day credentialing timeframe
• Utilize Epic EMR system and required communication devices (pager and Spectra Link phone)
• Preferred skills include ventilation management, intubation, central lines, ECMO, and various diagnostic procedures
• Out-of-house call arrangement with comprehensive mid-level support
Compensation:
Competitive hourly rates with weekly pay and malpractice included.
