Job description

Join our dynamic healthcare team as an Optometrist, where you will play a vital role in delivering comprehensive eye care and enhancing patients’ visual health. This exciting position offers the opportunity to utilize your expertise in optometry, medical diagnosis, and patient care to make a meaningful difference in people's lives. You will conduct thorough eye examinations, diagnose eye conditions, and develop personalized treatment plans while ensuring exceptional service and patient satisfaction. Duties

  • Perform detailed ophthalmic patient examinations, including assessment of visual acuity, intraocular pressure (tonometry), and ocular health evaluations using ophthalmic diagnostic imaging equipment.
  • Diagnose and manage a wide range of eye conditions such as glaucoma, cataracts, refractive errors, and other disease states related to ocular health.
  • Fit contact lenses and provide specialized optical solutions tailored to each patient's needs.
  • Operate medical equipment safely and accurately, including ophthalmic diagnostic tools and medical records systems (EMR/EHR).
  • Conduct ophthalmic consultations to educate patients on eye health, disease prevention, and treatment options while maintaining HIPAA compliance for patient privacy.
  • Document all findings meticulously within electronic medical records, ensuring accuracy for ongoing patient care.
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals to coordinate comprehensive patient care plans and follow-up treatments.

Experience

  • Proven experience in optometry or ophthalmology with a strong background in optical experience and healthcare diagnosis.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology related to the eye, and disease management.
  • Hands-on experience with ophthalmic diagnostic imaging equipment such as tonometers and other ophthalmic diagnostic tools.
  • Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems for efficient documentation and patient record management.
  • Ability to perform pediatric eye examinations and fit contact lenses for diverse patient populations.
  • Excellent client communication skills with a focus on customer service and education.
  • Understanding of medical coding procedures relevant to optometry services to ensure accurate billing.
