General Requirements:
Slitter operators are assigned to work on a slitter machine. They are required to safely and efficiently operate the machine and cut rolls to a specific sizes and tolerances. Teamwork and communication are an essential part of the job. They receive base material from the warehouse and are required to setup the machine based on work instructions for the specific order. They are required to fill out paperwork related to the job as well as take measurements of product and record as necessary based on specific instructions. They are required to confirm or make the material they have produced in SAP (our inventory computer software program). Other job duties may include cutting of cores, waste removal, packaging of materials and general housekeeping functions. In general, the slitter operators are required to work safely and efficiently according to the requirements of orders within quality specifications and package the material in order to ship to customers. In addition, they must support the plant goals to drive efficiencies, productivity, and continuous improvement.
Duties:
o Operate slitter machine.
o Machine set up.
o Follow order instructions for packaging
o Follow quality specifications.
o Fill out paperwork related to quality and enter information into computer.
o Print labels
o Cut cores
o General housekeeping.
o Promote teamwork.
o Support plant goals.
Skills:
o Must be able to work in a physically demanding role. The work involves long hours standing and bending. Heavy lifting is also required in at times.
o Basic math and computer skills are necessary for the position. Knowledge of the inventory database used in an organization is helpful, but workers may learn on the job.
o Must be able to communicate in verbal and written English

o Certified on the safe use of forklifts and other material moving equipment.
