Job description

Central Transfer & Recycle Center (CRC) , a Waste Connections company, is currently hiring for a full-time Lead Operator to work in our transfer station in Vancouver, WA.

The schedule will be 10:00am to around 6:30pm on weekdays and 6:00am to around 4:30pm on Saturday and Sunday, with Wednesdays and Thursdays off.

The starting wage will be $29/hr and additiona; $1/hr after positive 90 day review. We also offer great family benefits, 401k with a company match, paid vacation time, etc.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Operating a forklift and baler.

  • Buying and sorting out materials from customers.

  • Greeting, directing, discussing issues with, and educating customers of onsite rules and restrictions in a polite and courteous manner

  • Directing and tracking incoming traffic and monitoring waste material flow

  • Sorting customer loads - heavy lifting of metals

  • Following all appropriate safety guidelines and precautions, wearing required safety gear, and maintaining a neat and professional appearance at all times

  • Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.

WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL EFFORT:

  • Extensive physical activity. Requires strenuous physical work; heavy lifting, pushing, or pulling required of objects over 50 pounds.

  • Work environment involves some exposure to hazards or physical risks, which require following basic safety precautions.


MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ability to safety operate equipment on site (forklift, skidsteer, baler)

  • Ability to provide good customer service to the public.

  • Ability to read, understand, follow, and enforce safety procedures.

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred

  • Minimum 1 year of experience that is directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.

  • Basic knowledge of computer skills.
