Job description

St. Jane Frances de Chantal is seeking a well qualified candidate for the position of Director of Music Ministries (DMM). This is a 26 hour per week position with benefits included. The candidate must be knowledgeable in all aspects of the Catholic Liturgy, must be skilled in both organ and piano and must have good vocal skills.
Responsibilities:
  • Select and play appropriate liturgical music for three weekend Masses, special liturgies including Holy Day Masses, and significant liturgical celebrations including funerals, weddings, and other parish celebrations.
  • Nourish and grow the parish music ministry: recruit and direct Cantors, Adult Choir, Children's Choir, Bell Choir and a small instrumental ensemble.
  • Select, prepare, and teach suitable music to the congregation in order to inspire and encourage full participation in worship.
  • Maintain all music equipment, including piano, organ, and sound systems.
  • Actively engage with the Pastoral Staff and collaborate with Worship Coordinator in planning sacred music that supports full, active, and conscious participation by the faithful.
