Analytical Resource Laboratories (ARL) is a third-party contract laboratory specializing in microbiological and chemical testing of food, cosmetics, and dietary supplements. ARL has been offering analytical testing services for 23 years. We are looking for a team member with a background in analytical chemistry, microbiology, biophysics, or a closely related field, who is highly motivated, has great desire to learn, a quick learner, competent, meticulous, tech-savvy with excellent communication and organizational skills, personable, and proactive individual who is willing to wear multiples hats and embrace a "can-do" attitude to join our laboratory.

This is an excellent entry-level position for graduates in Analytical Chemistry or a closely related field who wish to gain valuable experience and cultivate industry knowledge and skills in a third-party laboratory industry.
Position Overview
Under the direction of a Team Lead and/or the Laboratory Manager, the Chemistry Lab Technician II supports laboratory operations by performing routine laboratory testing and assisting with method validation activities. This role is designed for a technically proficient laboratory professional who ensures accurate data generation, regulatory compliance, and timely completion of testing activities in a fast-paced, regulated laboratory environment.
Responsibilities
Laboratory Testing & Technical Operations

- Conduct routine laboratory preparation and testing of samples in accordance with ARL SOPs and written instructions in a timely manner using approved techniques with minimal supervision Perform all other duties and projects as assigned by ARL leadership
- Ensure testing and projects are completed on or before due dates
- Assist with method validation and method verification activities
Sample and Chemical Handling & Identification

- Classify and label samples and chemicals according to established protocols
- Maintain accountability and traceability for sample integrity throughout the testing lifecycle
Documentation, Data Analysis & Reporting

- Document method/batch supplies, equipment, prep, observations, and data in laboratory log books or notebooks per ARL requirements Identify and assist in investigations of out-of-specification (OOS) results Ensure data integrity and traceability across all documentation Communicate testing status, issues, and results with management
- Review analytical data within the set time expectations
- Maintain accurate, complete, and compliant laboratory records and documentation in accordance with ARL and regulatory standards
- Process, calculate, record, and report analytical data and related findings correctly in LIMS or laboratory documents
Quality Assurance & Regulatory Compliance

- Comply with all laboratory quality control and quality assurance requirements Support in deviation investigations and corrective actions Help ensure audit readiness and laboratory compliance with relevant regulations and standards at all levels
- Adhere to all GLP, GMP, ISO, and relevant regulations applicable to job duties
- Participate in quality audits and inspections as assigned
Laboratory Housekeeping, Safety & Waste Management

- Follow established lab safety protocols, especially when it comes to PPE and handling/storing chemicals and waste Provide support for lab-specific waste management
- Comply with all ARL workplace health, safety, and environmental regulations
- Maintain laboratory cleanliness at all times, including workspaces and equipment

Education & Background

- Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Biotechnology, or a closely related scientific field or equivalent experience in industry performing analytical QC testing.
Experience

- 1-5 years of relevant analytical chemistry laboratory experience
- Demonstrated hands-on experience with HPLC, GC, ICP-MS, FTIR, or related instrumentation
- Experience working in a GMP/GLP-regulated laboratory environment
Technical & Professional Competencies

- Advanced understanding of analytical laboratory techniques and instrumentation
- Demonstrated proficiency in analytical chemistry practices and independent data evaluation
- Strong hands-on experience operating, maintaining, calibrating, and troubleshooting laboratory equipment, including HPLC, GC, ICP-MS, FTIR, and related instrumentation
- Ability to independently calculate, review, interpret, and validate analytical results for accuracy and compliance
- Strong working knowledge of laboratory information management systems (LIMS) and documentation workflows
- High level of attention to detail and leadership in data integrity practices
- Ability to execute and enforce technical procedures and SOPs with minimal supervision
- Strong analytical thinking and structured problem-solving skills for resolving routine technical issues
- Ability to manage multiple complex testing assignments while maintaining quality and timeliness

- Demonstrated ownership of laboratory workflows and ability to mentor and guide junior technical staff
