GENERAL FUNCTION
The Clinical Optometrist is the leader & business owner within the marketplace & organization focused on delivering the highest level of clinical care to the patient throughout the customer journey. The Clinical Optometrist will support the organization (and market) with medical practice, referral care, and pre/post-op surgical support. The Clinical Optometrist will be a leader within the organization and market, working with and educating local peers on the medical care of patients within the EssilorLuxottica banners.
MAJOR DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Creates a compelling vision for the future, develops clear goals & operating plans ensuring executional excellence & winning results with Regionals, Managing ODs, Associate ODs, and Store Manager(s).
  • Sets & communicates clear objectives/expectations; demonstrates commitment to exceed results through strong medical practice, including billing & coding.
  • Ensures LensCrafters is recognized as a medical eye care provider within the community.
  • Operates as stakeholder to all within the organization & market.
  • Places the patient/customer at the center & delivers excellent service.
  • Leads/Manages the team in-office & in-market around medical optometry/services.
  • Addresses all patient/customer needs: medical, surgical, and lifestyle.
  • Listens carefully to patient/customer concerns & provides summary of overall eye health and medical/surgical needs.
  • Conducts service in line with protocol & standards of care; establishes positive Doctor/Patient relationships.
  • Leverages technology to deliver unsurpassed patient/customer experiences.
  • Demonstrates effective communication with office & store associates to ensure seamless patient experience/transition.
  • Ensures office quality systems are maintained.
  • Maintains State Licensure, practices full scope of license, and meets CE requirements.
  • Provides on-the-job training & guidance to team members using Company programs.
  • Delivers timely feedback; addresses problem performers promptly; practices performance management.
  • Creates a positive culture aligned with corporate vision & values.
  • Conducts chart audits for Managing & Associate ODs in the marketplace.
  • Partners with regionals on education & guidance of medical/surgical offerings in LensCrafters.
  • Assists with setting care standards & developing coding/billing standards for meical exams.
  • Serves as Subject Matter Expert for clinical care in LensCrafters & local market.
  • Helps lead surgical office success; educates patients & peers on full vision care value within LensCrafters.
  • Creates CE lectures & educational materials.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
  • Doctor of Optometry
  • Demonstrated leadership/management skills
  • Knowledge of current Optometric technology & practices
  • Knowledge of Medical Optometry, including Billing and Coding
  • Knowledge of Surgical care and practices pertaining to Optometry
  • Developed communication skills, both verbal & written
  • Strong problem solving & critical thinking skills
  • Organization & time management skills
  • Knowledge of sound business management practices

PREFFERED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Residency trained
  • Previous experience in an OD/MD practice
  • Comfort with educating/training peers more senior or tenured than themselves
