Job description

Position Title:

Campus Events/Logistics Worker (Accepting Applications)

Job Description:

Perform all duties as assigned by immediate Supervisor/Manager/Director.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Duties include, but are not limited to:
  • Event set-ups/breakdowns, including tents, stages, floor covering, barricades, tables, chairs etc.
  • Office moves, including furniture, file cabinets, etc., ensuring that appropriate moving procedures are followed to prevent damage.
  • Dormitory moves including beds/bunking beds, desks, chests, etc.
  • May be asked to assist any other department within the campus community and will be required to perform any other duties as assigned by immediate Supervisor/Manager/Director. Must be willing and able to work independently without supervision.

Job Requirements:

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Must attain on-site training within 30 days of hire or have proof of previous training in event set-up/ packing/wrapping/moving/loading of furniture and safety training on proper lifting.
  • A uniform, issued by MSMU will be required.

Job Hours

  • Hours will vary depending upon University events but will typically range between 6:30 a.m. - 8:00 p.m. with varying weekly schedules.
  • Overtime during weekdays, weekends and holidays will be required as needed.
  • A weekend rotation schedule will be implemented depending upon staffing, workloads and University events.
  • Any schedule may be adjusted as needed and some overnights will be required with inclement weather, university events or campus emergencies.
Physical Requirements
  • Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 lbs.
  • Must be able to lift and carry heavy loads up and down stairs.
  • Must be able to work in all types of weather.
  • Must be able to work well as a team.

Salary/Benefits
Minimum Pay Rate: $15.00/hour
