Job description

POSITION: Reproductive Health and Wellness/Primary Care Clinic Clerk

TYPE OF POSITION: Full Time (40 hours)

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Associate's degree in office administration, business, or related field. A minimum of two years of experience in a medical office/clinic setting. Computer experience in Excel and Word. Experience in Athena is preferred but not required. Must hold a valid driver's license. Must be a non-smoking individual. Must be vaccinated. Must be able to pass a drug screen.

DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES: Greet and register patients. Answer phone calls. Take and delegate messages to appropriate staff. Schedule patient appointments. Input history of patient. Obtain and input insurance information. Update insurance and demographics for patient at each visit if needed. Must have ability to read, analyze and interpret medical bills, health care contracts, financial reports, monitor accounts receivable, and follow up on outstanding claims. Review billing records, resubmit claims, and resolve problems as needed. Keep up to date on information related to changes in reimbursement fees. Monitor accounts receivable. Perform various collection actions, including telephone contacts, online systems for claims and denials, and ensure claims are corrected and resubmitted in a timely manner. Must know/be able to learn credentialing process and compliance with contracts.

RATE OF PAY AND BENEFITS: Rate of pay based on degree and experience. Ohio Public Employee Retirement System. Vacation and sick leave. Medical Plan that includes hospitalization, vision and dental coverage as well as prescription plan and life insurance. Fourteen paid holidays.
