POSITION SUMMARY/CLASS DESCRIPTION ***NOTE: THIS IS A PART-TIME POSITION (IN-PERSON; 20/HOURS PER WEEK)*** The Howard County Economic Development Authority (HCEDA) is seeking a self-motivated and detail-oriented individual to support its business finance functions particularly in the areas of loan financial analysis, borrower relations, and loan health forecasting. This individual will join an elite team that specializes in providing exemplary support and service to the Howard County business community. In this role, the individual will track financial performance of loans, conduct financial research on loan applicants, prepare reports, support and collaborate with the Director of Business Finance and offer strategic recommendations optimizing resource allocation for public and private sector projects.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Assist in Underwriting all loan applications. Review of potential loan recipients' financial documents. Analyze variances in the trial balance and report changes to management.

Assist with all processes and procedures: Loan booking to servicing (all business finance programs). Analyze and monitor loan statuses. Track and analyze financial growth of the loan holders' companies via tax returns.

Assist with bank reconciliations. Complete debt recovery documents. Draft payoff statements and periodic balance statements for loan holders.

Assist in any special projects or new finance programs as needed. Strive to achieve business finance goals as set forth each fiscal year. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: 2+ years of experience in financial analysis, budgeting, or forecasting.

Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial modeling. Knowledge of financial reporting and analysis tools. Familiarity with public finance or governmental accounting.

Excellent communication and presentation skills. DESIRED CHARACTERISTICS: Well-organized with keen attention to detail. Strong communication skills with demonstrated ability to effectively communicate with clients.

Team oriented. Ability to prioritize multiple projects in a fast-paced environment. Comfortable with learning new systems and technologies.

Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving abilities. Detail-oriented and organized. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.

Strong interpersonal skills for working with diverse stakeholders. Adaptability and willingness to learn in a fast-paced environment. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: 3+ years of relevant experience.

Associate degree in finance, economics, or a related field. Experience working with Economic Development Authorities or public sector organizations. Certification (e.g., CFA, CPA, or CFM)
