Job description

Job Overview

We are looking for a Day Porter to maintain the lobby and common areas of our building. Your tasks will include mopping floors, wiping down windows, dusting fixtures, and emptying trash. You will also service the restrooms. During certain seasons, you may need to clear walkways leading up to the building. Our ideal candidate is someone who will take pride in keeping the building beautiful, clean, and comfortable for all visitors. Applicants should have some professional cleaning experience or be familiar with cleaning products and equipment.

Work schedule Monday-Friday or Tuesday-Saturday shifts (6pm-2am)

Pay: $17.00 - $19.00 per hour

Job Types: Part-time

Duties

  • Perform thorough cleaning of assigned areas, including dusting, vacuuming, mopping, and sanitizing surfaces.
  • Manage floor care tasks such as sweeping, waxing, and polishing to ensure high standards of cleanliness.
  • Conduct carpet cleaning and maintenance to uphold the appearance of all carpeted areas.
  • Engage in custodial duties as needed, ensuring all areas are safe and welcoming.
  • Collaborate with housekeeping management to maintain inventory of cleaning supplies and report any shortages.
  • Follow safety protocols while using cleaning chemicals and equipment.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in housekeeping or commercial cleaning is preferred.
  • Strong customer service skills with the ability to interact positively with guests and clients.
  • Knowledge of floor care techniques and equipment operation is a plus.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while managing time effectively.
  • Attention to detail with a commitment to delivering high-quality results.
  • Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends or holidays if required.
  • Physical stamina to perform repetitive tasks such as lifting up to 50lbs, bending, and standing for extended periods.
