Job description

Description
The University of Chicago's Department of Medicine, Section of Emergency Medicine, is seeking full-time faculty members at any rank. Clinical responsibilities will be primarily based at Ingalls Hospital Emergency Department in Harvey, IL, with potential expansion of coverage to affiliated Urgent Aid sites in Tinley Park, IL, Flossmoor, IL, and Calumet City, IL. Duties include evaluating and treating patients who present to the ED and/or urgent aid sites, teaching and supervision of trainees and students, and scholarly activity. Academic rank and compensation will be dependent upon qualifications.

Appointees will join a well-established program and develop an academic niche that builds upon our faculty expertise in basic and translational research, health equity and bioethics research, geriatric emergency care, global emergency medicine, medical education, prehospital medicine, aero-medical transport, and ultrasound.
Prior to the start of employment, qualified applicants must: 1) have a medical doctorate or equivalent, 2) hold or be eligible for medical licensure in the State of Illinois, and 3) be board certified or board eligible in Emergency Medicine.
