Overview
Cherry Bekaert Recruiting & Staffing is partnered with a well-established organization in the Arlington, VA area seeking an Accounting Manager to lead day-to-day accounting operations. This role will oversee core operational accounting functions, month-end close, financial reporting, and team/process management.
The ideal candidate will bring strong technical accounting knowledge, leadership ability, and experience operating in a deadline-driven environment.
Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee monthly close, reconciliations, and financial reporting activities
  • Manage general ledger operations and ensure timely, accurate accounting results
  • Review journal entries, account analyses, and supporting schedules
  • Supervise accounting staff and support team development
  • Maintain and strengthen internal controls and accounting processes
  • Partner with leadership on reporting, audit support, and operational improvements
  • Assist with systems optimization and accounting process standardization
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
  • 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including supervisory experience preferred
  • Strong experience with core operational accounting functions required
  • CPA preferred
  • Experience with large ERP systems strongly preferred, including NetSuite, Sage Intacct, Unanet, Costpoint, or similar
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to lead in a hands-on environment
