Job description

To plan, organize and control the input, movement, process/sort, and output of the operations to ensure a high level of service and quality at a minimal cost.
Responsible for selecting, training, and developing a staff of 1 to 15 direct reports. Conducts meetings to provide employees with daily information regarding division/operation; applies consistent administration of disciplinary procedures. Maintains accurately all required reports/paperwork, payroll, performance reviews, goals, and personal record statistics through established paperwork guidelines. Oversees safety methods and programs are implemented and maintained. Instructs employees with/on methods to instill a service-conscious attitude, and minimize service failures. Ensures cost effectiveness of operations through established control of equipment, utilities and supplies. Maintains contact with customers (internal and external) with regard to conditions affecting the service level of area served. Oversees movement and activities of all related products to ensure maximum efficiency.
This position requires strong basic management, human relations and communications skills. Minimum 2-year associate's or college degree preferred/equivalent in business and/or minimum 3 years business experience in the appropriate product field/industry. License or certification in appropriate product field preferred: transportation-imdg certification and/or ocean forwarders certification.
Preferred Qualifications: Minimum 5 years of Air/ ocean freight forwarding experience in either import or export operations Minimum 2 years of team leadership, supervisory, or equivalent leadership experience. Strong operational knowledge. carrier/vendor coordination. Ability to independently handle operational issues and escalations, experience training, supporting, and overseeing staff. Strong customer service and communication skills. Good understanding of ocean freight documentation, Incoterms, compliance.
Pay Transparency: This compensation range is provided as a reasonable estimate of the current starting salary range for this role across all potential locations. If this opportunity includes multiple job levels, the range is a reasonable estimate of the current starting salary for the lowest level to the current starting salary of the highest level. Actual starting pay would be determined by experience relative to the job, market level, pay at the location for this job and other job-related factors permitted by law. An employee may be eligible for additional pay, premiums, or bonus potential. The Company offers eligible employees health, vision and dental insurance, retirement, and tuition reimbursement.
Pay: $67,200.00 - 90,000.00 Yearly
Additional Details: This is statewide role in South San Franscisco. 3 days in office and 2 days at home. Shift is 8:00AM - 5:00PM PST
