Responsibilities
The Trade Compliance Specialist I supports export compliance operations for SATCOM products, software, and technology primarily controlled under the EAR. The role focuses on day-to-day execution activities including shipment reviews, export documentation validation, HS/HTS classification verification, license determination support, CCATS submissions, and import/export recordkeeping. The position partners with logistics, contracts, supply chain, and engineering teams to support compliant domestic and international business operations.
Qualifications
  • 5-7 years of practical export compliance experience supporting commercial and/or dual-use technology exports
    • Experience independently reviewing export shipments and commercial documentation in a high-volume operational environment
    • Working knowledge of EAR classifications, license exceptions, restricted party screening, and AES filing requirements
    • Familiarity with freight forwarder coordination, customs documentation, and import/export record retention requirements
    • Experience supporting engineering or product teams with classification data collection and technical information requests preferred
    • Prior experience in aerospace, telecommunications, electronics, satellite communications, or other controlled technology industries preferred
