Job description

Thor Xpress Transport is a fast-growing trucking and logistics company seeking an experienced Import & Export Airfreight Specialist to join our team. This is a full-time, in-person position focused on coordinating, tracking, and supervising airfreight shipments across our nationwide transportation network.


Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and track import and export airfreight freight from acceptance through final delivery.
  • For export shipments, monitor the entire process from cargo acceptance/pickup through delivery to the designated airport and  airline.
  • For import shipments, coordinate and monitor shipments from airport availability and pickup through delivery to the final destination.
  • Book transportation and coordinate pickups, deliveries, airport transfers, and linehaul movements.
  • Monitor shipment milestones, deadlines, flight schedules, cutoffs, availability, and delivery requirements.
  • Review and audit airline, transportation documentation and related shipping documents.
  • Communicate with airlines, ground handling agents, freight forwarders, customs brokers, truck dispatchers, drivers, customers, and internal operations teams.
  • Proactively identify delays, documentation issues, customs-related holds, missed connections, or other exceptions and coordinate solutions.
  • Provide customers and internal stakeholders with timely and accurate shipment status updates.
  • Maintain accurate shipment information and documentation across multiple TMS systems and online platforms.
  • Ensure proper handoff and communication between all parties involved throughout the transportation process.


Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in air cargo, airline operations, freight forwarding, import/export operations, or a related logistics role strongly preferred.
  • Good understanding of airfreight import and export processes and documentation.
  • Highly detail-oriented and organized, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities simultaneously.
  • Strong computer and technology skills with the ability to work efficiently across multiple TMS systems, airline portals, tracking platforms, and other online systems.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel required.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to communicate professionally and effectively with customers, vendors, airlines, agents, brokers, and internal teams.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in a fast-paced, time-sensitive transportation environment.
