Job description

Position Summary

The Operations Associate position at Courier Network tracks, traces, and maintains status of Expedited and Next Flight Out (NFO) shipments via air and domestic transport for our Import Division. This role is responsible for providing customer-specific updates, including import, and domestic transactions, including processes from shipment RFQ to final delivery.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Communicate with carriers and origin and destination location agents regarding shipment status, special handling, and delivery processes.

  • Communicate with customs to ensure clearance is obtained.

  • Monitor and manage shipments until completion. Keep customers appraised to the export/import/and domestic details of transactions in accordance with SOPโ€™s.

  • Ensure accuracy and completeness throughout the process, utilizing both internal and external resources.

  • Timely communication with customers, offices, overseas and domestic providers to maintain relationships.

  • Updates, develops, and maintains the standard operating procedure (SOP) for customer(s) assigned to them and ensures all team members are apprised of any applicable changes.

  • Provides overall management of new and existing portfolios and information relative to the customers including implementation of new procedures, quotes, contract agreements, routing, ad-hoc bids, and special projects.

  • Serves as an advisor and customer advocate and is responsible for resolving issues and proper customer positioning on all issues pertaining to delivering customer satisfaction.

  • Keeps customers appraised to the export/import/and domestic details of transactions in accordance with SOP, SLA, and any other agreed to terms and conditions.

  • Ensures accuracy and completeness of all documentation in compliance with TSA and Ace Quality Assurance Standards SOPs.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in logistics, supply chain management, international business, or similar required; and

  • 1-5 years of proven logistics operations experience with a preference for freight forwarding experience; operate and quote shipments

  • Must possess excellent customer service skills with the ability to build great working relationships

  • Must have strong organizational and time management skills

  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills
