Project Manager - Aon Life Solutions

Role Type: New position

 

As part of an industry-leading team, you will help empower results for our clients by delivering innovative and effective solutions as part of our Solutions & Technology Group (STG) within Aon Reinsurance, in Toronto, Canada.

Applicants must be legally authorized to work in Canada. This role is not eligible for sponsorship, and we are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment visa or work permit.

The salary range for this position is {CAD $85,000 - CAD $115,000}. The actual salary will vary based on applicant’s education, experience, skills and abilities, as well as internal equity. The salary may also be adjusted based on applicant’s geographic location.

What the day will look like

 

  • Lead and facilitate Agile ceremonies including daily standups, sprint planning, sprint reviews, and retrospectives.
  • Work directly with clients in a consulting capacity - gather requirements, develop project plans, present solutions, and lead customer expectations.
  • Support delivery of largescale technology and product implementation projects, ensuring timelines, risks, scope, and quality are rigorously handled.
  • Perform project estimation and financial planning, including building and analyzing project budgets, forecasting costs, and monitoring financial performance for ongoing and upcoming projects.
  • Build, maintain, and optimize team processes, documentation, workflows, and operational models.
  • Prepare highquality PowerPoint presentations for executivelevel audiences, articulating sophisticated technical and business concepts clearly and persuasively.
  • Develop reporting packages and dashboards for internal and external customers using Power BI, Excel, and other analytics tools.
  • Use JIRA, Confluence, and SharePoint to manage backlogs, track progress, document project materials, and maintain project governance.
  • Collaborate closely with partners to support planning, prioritization, and problemsolving activities.
  • Identify obstacles, facilitate resolution, and promote continuous progress and improvement across project teams.
  • Track indicators, delivery metrics, and sprint progress to ensure highquality delivery.
  • Communicate project status, risks, issues, and decisions to all levels of interested parties.
  • Develop portfolio reporting and governance for practice, providing insights on project health, progress, and key metrics.
  • Manage resource planning and capacity allocation across multiple programmes, projects and regions, ensuring optimal utilisation and delivery readiness.

STG’s high-performance software platform, PathWise™, provides companies with the ability to easily model financial obligations without involved coding and is run on Graphical Processing Units (GPU), making it the fastest, readily available software platform currently in use in the insurance industry. STG’s consulting services has focused primarily on actuarial analysis, reinsurance modeling and structing, reviews of hedging programs, and modeling of insurance liabilities and financial assets.

Skills and experience that will lead to success

  • 8+ years of experience as a Project Manager, Delivery Lead or Scrum Master in the financial or insurance industry.
  • Consulting background with direct clientfacing experience - requirements gathering, communicating, solutioning, and managing executive partners.
  • Strong experience working in the field of insurance or reinsurance.
  • Demonstrated experience delivering largescale product or technology implementation projects.
  • Exceptional communication, facilitation, negotiation, and stakeholdermanagement skills.
  • Sophisticated PowerPoint skills with the ability to craft executiveready presentations and articulate key messaging clearly.
  • Strong analytical and reporting capabilities, including building dashboards in Power BI, and preparing structured reporting packages.
  • Advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables, complex formulas, and macros.
  • Strong experience with JIRA, Confluence, and SharePoint for project delivery, backlog management, documentation, and governance.
  • Ability to design, document, and optimize business processes and workflows.
  • Deep understanding of Agile principles, Scrum methodologies, and traditional project management.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in finance, insurance, computer science, engineering, or related field.
  • PMP certification preferred; CSM or other Agile certifications considered an asset.
  • Expertise in story splitting, estimation, velocity measurement, retrospectives, and other core Agile techniques.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead participant meetings at all organizational levels using effective facilitation techniques.
