Job description

Brandt is currently seeking a Director of Fleetwise for our Customer Support Center in Regina, Saskatchewan.

The Director of Fleetwise is responsible for managing, coordinating, and implementing the value of connectivity, Machine monitoring, Fleet  Management, and Preventative maintenance into Brandt and our customers’ organizations. This position provides leadership,  technical knowledge, and strategy pertaining to the efforts of the overall Brandt Fleet initiatives while driving internal efficiency  improvements and Product Support revenue growth strategies.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Develop strategy to implement new and innovative solutions to deliver industry leading Customer Support to Brandt and its customers using telematics, Machine Monitoring, Preventative maintenance, and Fleet management.  
  • Implement and coordinate systems, policies and procedures into Brandt and the Fleet management, machine monitoring, preventative maintenance, and technical communicator groups. 
  • Develop training curriculum and technical content for the respected positions reporting to the Asset Manager. 
  • Provide input into Brandt CSA training program in relation to telematics, machine monitoring, preventative maintenance, and fleet management.   
  • Develop and maintain KPI’s for the Brandt Fleet team, Proactive team, Technical Communicators, and CSA’s in relation to connectivity and machine monitoring. 
  • Meet metrics set forth by John Deere and Brandt. Be sure those metrics are being tracked and met by Brandt and reported to the appropriate personnel.  
  • Perform the role of primary liaison with the John Deere Machine Health Monitoring Center (DMHC) and other Brandt suppliers. Implement changes and policies from those suppliers.   
  • Perform the role of primary liaison with ALS Laboratories and implement necessary supporting processes. 
  • Assist with new product introductions, processes, and their integration into Brandt’'s product portfolio.  
  • Works closely with Technical Communicators in sharing information and preparing action steps to address equipment abnormalities and positively impact internal efficiencies. 
  • Work closely with Branches and CSA’s to be sure they are meeting their targets from the technology, proactive support, and fleet management aspect of the business.   
  • Understand emerging technologies in the Fleet, Mining, Construction and Forestry areas and how they fit into the Brandt technology offerings.   
  • Work closely with marketing to develop and promote Asset management, connectivity, machine monitoring, and preventative maintenance to internal and external stakeholders.  
  • Support sales teams and make sure they have the correct marketing material, training information, and processes in place to make the sale.   
  • Work in conjunction with the Purchasing Manager to collaborate with the VP and Director of Product Support and operating company management teams to improve asset utilization and specification development. 
  • Facilitate and assist in building and maintaining a fleet program that can be sold to customers as a service. This can include PM for all assets, machine monitoring and telematics systems. 
  • Provide coaching and direction to the front-line Asset management team in leveraging and interpreting system data and reports, providing business perspective and enabling consistency and improvements in the use of technology tools,  develop, report and maintain all Asset management operations.  
  • Ensure drivers records and vehicle maintenance are current and improvement for all fleet vehicles. 
  • Ensure timely and effective records management for all fleet services. 
  • Develop and maintain a goal of driver downtime/interruption and achieving high standards of equipment maintenance.   
  • Oversee developing, maintaining, and implementing all Brandt fleet policies. Oversee the execution of preventative fleet maintenance and regulatory compliance. 
  • Lead the design, development and integration of the fleet management measurement and benchmarking systems and performance reporting, promoting the efficient and effective operation of a vehicle fleet, including motorized material  handling equipment and ancillary equipment. 
  • Manage and report on operational performance of the fleet across multiple dimensions, such as lifecycle management and fuel consumption. 
  • Utilize a set of reporting tools and policies to track and analyze operational and financial performance, identify and prioritize challenges in the optimal management of fleet vehicles.  Undertakes research on various aspects of the fleet  vehicle life cycle costs and programs. 
  • Lead maintenance cost reduction initiatives. 
  • Understand, document, and streamline Preventative maintenance processes and how they fit with other areas of the business. 
  • Recruit, develop, and manage the team of PM coordinators. 
  • Report and manage PM 249 account. 
  • Assist in purchasing, building and/or maintaining software used for PM, Machine monitoring and fleet operation. 
    Monitor and measure service quality. 
  • Other duties as assigned. 

QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS 

  • Technical expertise  
    • Strong technical & diagnostic capabilities. 
    • High level of computer skills including Microsoft Office software (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
    • Business degree or similar background considered an asset.   
  • Management Skills 
    • Management experience preferably with a heavy equipment dealer and/or truck dealer service. 
    • Ability to communicate effectively with direct and indirect stakeholders. 
    • Assist in understanding issues, coordinate with resources, and find resolutions in a timely manner. 
    • Ability to develop and effectively execute processes for consistent streamlined solution driven activities. 
    • Ability to develop business plans associated with superior service and technologies.
