Job description

The Position

Qualified candidates must possess a Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university and a Teaching Certificate with a Science (DH and/or DI) Endorsement. STEM endorsement. The qualified candidate will use creative instructional strategies along with best practices for classroom teaching which promotes interactive learning and student engagement with science instruction. The candidate must be adept with technology and ready to consider emergent techniques to enhance student achievement. 

Qualifications

Candidates must possess a Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university/college and a valid Michigan Secondary Teaching Certificate with an Earth Science (DH) and/or Integrated Science (DI).

Responsibilities

  • Implement Science Curriculum, following the State standards.
  • Design and utilize creative and engaging lesson plans.
  • Utilize a variety of instructional strategies to meet the needs of individual students.
  • Assess students using both formative and summative assessments.
  • Include practical application of content knowledge in lesson plans.
  • Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of each learner.
  • Develop and implement strategies of interventions for individual students.
  • Establish and consistently implement positive classroom management strategies while promoting a safe, respectful, and productive learning environment for each learner.
  • Utilize progress monitoring.
  • Maintain accurate and complete student records.
  • Establish and maintain an effective and cooperative working relationship with all staff, students, and parents.

This position reports to the Building Principal.
