About Your Role:

This position will be responsible to focus on project management areas of technical voice as well as data solution design.  On the voice transition side, team in successfully migrating customers’ voice services to cloud services (UCaaS, CCaas), as well as designing, engineering, evaluating, recommending, formulating, and implementing plans for current and new technologies.

On the Data transition side, Achieve customer network operational deliverables by designing, engineering, evaluating, recommending, formulating, testing, and implementing plans for current and new technology.

This position requires strong interpersonal, collaboration, and communication skills.  Experience in Network Engineering, Project management and MS Visio are a must. This is a high touch, client-facing position, conveying confidence to those clients in abilities to plan, specify, deploy, support, and maintain infrastructure designs that our clients’ businesses rely on to operate.

Translate highly technical ideas/principles into comprehensive/descriptive business language for peer groups, management, clients to effectively assist/resolve issues.

This role will coordinate strategies for defining, deploying, installing, configuring, and managing and maintaining Cloud hosted IP telephony communication architecture and its associated network connections and component hardware within companies.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • The Service Delivery Implementation Engineer will be responsible for providing project management for small business to large enterprise implementations of Spectrotel’s Managed Services & UCaaS platforms, managing customer expectations and satisfaction, and overseeing the implementation processes.
  • Develop comprehensive project plans that merge customer requirements with platform capabilities.
  • Ensure deliverables are maintained for all projects, providing regular status reports, project risks, and ensuring projects stay on time and within contract scope.
  • Contribute to strategic network plans and reviews; designing effective networks following industry best practice; preparing and completing action plans.
  • nstall, configure, and support network equipment, including routers, switches, firewalls, UCaaS and various other managed service devices.
  • Responsible for tracking project timelines, deliverables, risks and adjusting the vendor implementation processes accordingly to meet customers’ goals.
  • Coordinate with various stake holders and technical personnel during all project phases, from initial development through implementation and training.
  • Manage day-to-day aspects of multiple implementation projects, including customer kickoff meetings, regular customer status calls, tracking milestone deliverables, updating project plans, coordinating ad-hoc calls and documentation.
  • Reviewing and testing possible technical solutions, when necessary, lab up gear to test designs.
  • Ability to work on multiple project timelines, deliverables, and information requests for our client’s network needs.
  • Interaction with IP management systems like IPAM
  • Design and deploy new telecommunication infrastructures for new branches.
  • Select and implement security tools, policies, and procedures in conjunction with the customers security and networking team.
  • Collaborate with customers in order to analyze their business requirements and offer comprehensive solution changes as needed post sale.
  • Act as First level escalation to the Cloud Activations Team.
  • Work with field technicians remotely to deploy the final solution.

Qualifications:

  • CCNA level certification or working experience; Previous MSP experience is a must-
  • Experience with Meraki Firewalls and Switches
  • Experience creating ACD and IVR routing rules, menus, user extension, agent skills, supervisor rules, hours of operation, time of day routing, call queues, call recording services, voicemail to email, chat, and other components of a customer CCaaS / UCaaS platform build.
  • 3 years of experience working with large multi-site IP Telephony networks.
  • 3 years of project management experience, specifically ability to lead enterprise-wide projects
  • Candidates for this role should be experienced, highly organized, and possess a strong work ethic
  • Effective communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with creative and production teams, other business units, all levels of management and staff.
  • Comfortable working in a multitasking, fast-paced environment, handling 20 to 25 small to large ongoing projects.
  • An ideal candidate will have a working knowledge of PBX/Call Manager, SIP trunking solutions, contact center solutions, dial plans, conferencing / collaboration systems, Avaya/ Cisco and other voice gateways, network protocols (G. 711, G729, SIP, H. 323) and UC, UCaaS, CCaaS, and CPaaS solutions.
  • Strong analytical and quantitative problem-solving skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite with intermediate to significant knowledge of excel.
  • Some experience developing, managing, and designing enterprise network environments that support IP telephony.
  • Experience and understanding of the OSI network model and extensive experience in network technologies: IP Switches, Routers, LAN/WAN, TCP/IP, DNS, UDP, VoIP, QoS, BGP, MPLS, SD-WAN, VPN, Enterprise Network Switching, Routing, and QoS.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of phone switch technology including PBX, ISDN PRI, voicemail, IVR, and call accounting applications.
  • Experience and understanding Telephony routing processes such as LNP validation, Porting, REPORG, LRN, E911, LIDB, CNAM
  • Provide architectural and technical oversight to help deliver projects across sections of the customer existing LAN network.

Desired Skills / Experience: 

  • SDWAN Experience with VeloCloud, Bigleaf, Fortinet
  • Experience working with MPLS networks
  • Experience with Juniper Firewalls
  • Experience with Fortinet & Meraki Firewalls and Switches & APs
  • Proficiency in building and creating firewall rules and policies

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Telecommunication, Management Information Services, or a related technical discipline. Equivalent work experience in lieu of a degree.
  • Industry certification(s) preferred pertaining to telecommunication infrastructure engineering, administration, design and maintenance, and advanced administration. Examples: Cisco CCNA, Cisco CCNA Collaboration, Network+, Avaya ACSS.
  • Experience with Telecommunication providers, SIP/VoIP providers, and cloud providers.
  • Experience with Mobile Device Management platforms.
  • Experience with premise-based phone systems like Avaya, Cisco, or UCaaS
