What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as an Impact Litigation Attorney, and why are they important?

To thrive as an Impact Litigation Attorney, you need strong legal research, analytical, and writing skills, typically supported by a Juris Doctor (JD) degree and bar admission. Familiarity with legal research databases (such as Westlaw or LexisNexis), case management systems, and sometimes specialized certifications in civil rights or public interest law are highly valuable. Outstanding oral advocacy, strategic thinking, and a passion for social justice help attorneys excel in this role. These skills and qualities are crucial for effectively challenging systemic issues, advocating for marginalized communities, and driving meaningful legal and policy change.

What are some common challenges faced by Impact Litigation Attorneys when working on high-profile cases?

Impact Litigation Attorneys often encounter challenges such as managing large volumes of complex evidence, navigating intense public scrutiny, and coordinating with advocacy groups or affected communities. Additionally, the lengthy nature of impact litigation can demand perseverance and adaptability, as cases may span several years and involve evolving legal landscapes.

What are Impact Litigation Attorneys?

Impact Litigation Attorneys are lawyers who focus on cases that have the potential to create significant legal or social change, often beyond the interests of a single client. They use strategic lawsuits to challenge unjust laws, policies, or practices, typically in areas like civil rights, environmental justice, or public interest. Their work often involves complex legal research, coalition building, and advocacy to create lasting change through the court system.

Impact litigation attorneys can reach high earnings by gaining extensive experience, specializing in lucrative areas such as environmental or corporate law, and working for large firms or organizations with high billing rates. Litigation Attorney - Hybrid

About Us:

For nearly 30 years, The Husband & Wife Law Team has set the standard in personal injury law through exceptional client service and legal results. Our mission? To thoughtfully guide people through adversity toward their best possible outcomes. We bring our community to work every dayโ€”honoring excellence, supporting local causes, and hosting meaningful events. If you're ready to make an impact alongside a collaborative, values-driven team, read on and apply today!

About the Role:

This hybrid role offers a balance of in-office collaboration and remote work flexibility. If you are not only skilled but deeply committed to mastering the art of high-stakes litigation, we want to hear from you.

Our team regularly strategizes together on every case, but the most severe and complex cases require a dedicated legal team. We are seeking an exceptional attorney to join our team, handling cases involving traumatic brain injuries, spinal cord injuries, paralysis, severe trauma, burns, amputations, and wrongful death. Cases that often present intricate legal challenges.

This role is ideal for a highly skilled and meticulous attorney with experience in personal injury, or similarly complex litigation. The right candidate will have the drive to dig deep into case details, analyze extensive documents, build rock-solid cases, and prepare for trial alongside a mentor with extensive experience in litigation.

Our Litigation Attorney is designed for creative, emotionally intelligent professionals who are passionate about advocating for clients facing serious, though temporary, life-altering injuries. With a lower caseload and more intricate legal challengesโ€”ranging from premises liability and assault to negligence and traumatic injuriesโ€”this position calls for someone who can think critically, navigate complex legal landscapes, and build meaningful relationships. If you're an attorney who finds purpose in thoughtful strategy and client care, this is where your impact begins.

What Youโ€™ll Do

  • Handle complex personal injury cases involving catastrophic injuries and wrongful death.
  • Develop case strategies through in-depth legal research, witness interviews, and expert consultations.
  • Work side-by-side with an experienced attorney on case preparation, discovery, depositions, and trial strategy.
  • Conduct legal analysis and draft motions, pleadings, and briefs.
  • Manage relationships with clients, ensuring they are fully informed and supported throughout their case.
  • Collaborate with a dedicated legal team to ensure each case is meticulously prepared and the opposition is outworked and out-prepared.
  • Advocate for clients in negotiations, mediations, and court proceedings.

What Weโ€™re Looking For

  • Arizona or New Mexico Licensed attorney with a minimum of 5 years of experience in litigation, ideally in personal injury, medical malpractice, or product liability.
  • A deep commitment to fighting for individuals who have suffered severe and life-changing injuries.
  • Exceptional analytical, research, and writing skills with an ability to construct compelling legal arguments.
  • Strong work ethic, attention to detail, and an unwavering pursuit of excellence in every case.
  • The ability to handle high-pressure, high-stakes cases with skill and tenacity.
  • A collaborative mindset with a willingness to learn and grow under the guidance of a highly experienced trial attorney.
  • Creativity and resourcefulness in identifying legal strategies, expert witnesses, and case-building techniques.

Things Youโ€™ve Done in the Past

Success in this role requires:

  • Strategic legal thinking to challenge corporate and government entities
  • Relentless pursuit of excellence in case preparation and trial readiness
  • A passion for justice and the ability to secure top-tier expert witnesses
  • Creativity and bold decision-making while learning from an industry leader
  • Expertise in discovery, motion practice, and critical depositions

Why Join Us?

At The Husband & Wife Law Team, youโ€™re not just taking a job, youโ€™re joining a mission. Weโ€™re a family-run firm with nearly 30 years of experience helping people navigate tragedy and recovery. • 401(k) with company matching
  • Paid time off & paid family leave
  • Health savings account (HSA)
  • Team appreciation events, employee discounts & much more
