We have an immediate career opportunity for a qualified Customs Clearance Process Improvement & Automation Analyst. This role is responsible for driving excellence, digitalization, and continuous process optimization within DHL's U.S. Customs Clearance operations. This role serves as a strategic partner between Operations, Customs Clearance, IT, and Digital teams to identify, analyze, and implement solutions that improve efficiency, scalability, and service performance. The incumbent leverages data analytics, process optimization, automation, and technology enhancements to eliminate operational inefficiencies, reduce manual effort, and strengthen compliance while ensuring uninterrupted cargo clearance activities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operational Support & Process Improvement
  • Resolve trade application, system, and process issues to ensure uninterrupted customs clearance operations and minimize shipment delays.
  • Develop interim solutions and document business requirements for sustainable system and process enhancements.
  • Analyze current-state customs clearance processes, identify inefficiencies, and implement streamlined, scalable solutions.
  • Continuous Improvement & Analytics
  • Conduct root-cause analysis of recurring operational and system issues and implement corrective actions.
  • Leverage operational data to identify trends, measure performance, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Develop and maintain dashboards, KPIs, and reporting tools to monitor effectiveness and quantify business impact.
  • Automation & Systems Enhancement
  • Identify and lead automation and digitalization opportunities to reduce manual effort and improve operational efficiency.
  • Partner with IT and Digital teams to define requirements, implement solutions, and support system integrations and enhancements.
  • Evaluate existing technology capabilities and recommend improvements that support business objectives and operational scalability.
  • Stakeholder Management & Change Leadership
  • Collaborate with Operations, Customs Compliance, IT, and Global stakeholders to align on process improvement and technology priorities.
  • Lead change management activities, including communication, training, and user adoption, to ensure successful implementation of new solutions.
  • Compliance & Risk Management
  • Ensure all process, system, and automation initiatives comply with U.S. Customs regulations, DHL policies, and global standards.
  • Identify and mitigate operational and compliance risks while maintaining audit readiness and strong governance practices.

Skills & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in business, Supply Chain, Logistics, Data Analytics, Finance, Computer Science or equivalent
  • 4+ years of experience in business analysis, data-driven strategy, or operations
  • Understanding of customs clearance processes
  • Proficiency with databases and data modeling (e.g. Python, SQL)
  • Strong capabilities in data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI)
  • Ability to analyze data, identify trends, and communicate insights clearly to business stakeholders
  • Strong critical thinking and root-cause analysis to design optimal business solutions
  • Interest in learning customs, trade, and logistics processes
