Responsibilities
Job Specific Details and Tasks: The duties include, but are not limited to the following:
  • Provide healthcare services directly to FDA employees and authorized clients at assigned occupational health clinic (OHC) locations in accordance with state scope of practice, FDA clinic policies, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
  • Perform components of physical examinations, including:
    • Vital signs, height, and weight
    • Audiometry
    • Vision testing
    • ECG
    • Spirometry
    • Phlebotomy
    • TB skin testing
  • Accurately document all clinical data on required forms and in designated systems.
  • Administer immunizations in accordance with FDA clinic policies, SOPs, and standing orders.
  • Provide non-emergency clinical care to FDA clients per Registered Nurse protocols.
  • Respond to medical emergencies and provide care in accordance with BLS/AED protocols and FDA clinic procedures.
  • Administer medications as ordered by authorized external prescribing physicians, when approvals are current and on file.
  • Provide and review destination-specific travel health information for FDA employees.
  • Perform respirator fit testing, as required at assigned sites.
  • Conduct outreach and health promotion activities in accordance with FDA clinic guidance.
  • Assist with opening, relocating, or closing occupational health clinic sites as directed.
  • Respond timely and accurately to data and reporting requests from clinic leadership and medical oversight officials.
  • Maintain competency in all site-specific clinical tasks required to support FDA occupational health services.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
• Education: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• Licensed: As a Registered Nurse (RN) in the state where the nurse practices.
• Experience: At least (3) years of post-graduate clinical experience as a RN providing direct patient care. At least (3) years clinical experience in Occupational Health, Preventive Medicine or Public Health experience is preferred and will be considered a strength.
• Biannual certification in BLS for Healthcare Providers.
