Job description

RN – Onsite Well-Being Nurse - Evernorth – Phila PA/Newark DE

The Onsite Well-being Registered Nurse will work closely with Cigna Benefits and Account Management Teams and in executing Cigna's well-being and health management goals. The primary focus of the Onsite Well-being Coach/Coordinator is individual coaching, site health promotion and Clinic Functions.

In collaboration, with the Cigna benefits and account teams, this RN balances individual coaching sessions with appropriate delivery and coordination of wellness programs including event scheduling and appointment coordination and monitors effectiveness of the programs. A core objective of this position is to facilitate wellness programs that educate and influence employees at the worksite to lead healthy lifestyles.

Coach Responsibilities

  • Individual coaching sessions
  • Provide onsite face-to-face employee coaching, support and education.
  • Assist in the identification of members' health advocacy needs.
  • Utilize motivational interviewing and engagement strategies to support overall health and wellness of employees.
  • Provide onsite support to members in order to help them identify a need for behavior change to improve health status, reduce health risks and improve quality of life.
  • Document interactions and interventions as directed using Cigna health technology tools.
  • Educate and refer members to available health resources when appropriate.
  • Educate members about the availability of decision support tools where multiple treatment options are available.
  • Provide health and wellness education utilizing a multitude of media including group presentations, support group facilitation, creative use of modalities (i.e. games, quizzes, etc.), newsletter contributions, etc.
  • Follow up with employees to ensure that wellness program engagement has been achieved and assess future educational and/or program referral needs.
  • Consult with other onsite health and wellness resources to ensure that employee's comprehensive health needs are being addressed.

Coordinator Responsibilities/Health Promotion

  • Collaborate in development and coordination of promotions and communications
  • Partner in overall promotion planning and development
  • Educate about wellness programs, tools and services
  • Identify relevant promotions, articles and handouts
  • Raise awareness and create visibility for wellness

Wellness Events and Campaigns

  • Plan and roll out campaigns, challenges, and activities at assigned locations
  • Support the design and implementation of site Health Fairs
  • Assist with coordination of activities, biometrics, online Health Assessment, individual and team challenges, guest speakers, mammogram screening, open enrollment, family wellness event, etc.

Workplace strategy in partnership with Cigna benefits team

  • Collaborate on local tactics to bring corporate wellness strategy alive.
  • Maintain activity calendar of events and activities for each location
  • Review local metrics, history, interests and engagement to design locally relevant initiatives
  • Track next steps, projects, activities and participation.
  • Coordinate and pilot initiatives.

Wellness Infrastructure Development

  • Identify ways to embed well-being into the environment.
  • Develop local advisory council and champion networks.
  • Identify barriers to engagement
  • Network with Key people and divisions

Travel

  • The Onsite Well-being Coach/Coordinator will have travel expectations to identified locations within the organization for coordination purposes (25% travel).

Clinical Functions/Telemedicine

  • Prepping patient for virtual provider:
  • Vitals
  • Clinical photos
  • CLIA waived testing
  • Labs
  • Immunizations
  • Input HPI info into the system
  • Overall management and day-to-day operations of the health center
  • Scheduling
  • Ordering Supplies
  • CLIA testing
  • Health Center review compliance
  • Order management
  • Daily clinic compliance testing

Qualifications:

  • Active and unrestricted RN license in PA and ability to maintain; compact license preferred
  • Active and unrestricted RN license in DE or ability to obtain and maintain; compact license preferred
  • Bachelor's/Master's degree in health education, health promotion, or related field preferred
  • Minimum of 3 or more years clinical experience as a Registered Nurse in a physician's office or hospital setting
  • Minimum of 3 or more years of experience in health and wellness field
  • BLS
  • Phlebotomy skills
  • Excellent Computer and technology skills required
  • Experience with workplace well-being strategy and implementation
  • Thorough knowledge and understanding of behavior change theories and their application.
  • Working knowledge of wellness programming and individual engagement strategies.
  • A high energy level and excellent written and oral communication skills are essential.
  • Proven ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Self-directness and the ability succeed in an independent role.

Bonus Points for:

  • CHES (Certified Health Education Specialist) successful exam completion desired.
  • Positive role model in demonstrating healthy behaviors.
  • Experience in health education and wellness coaching preferred.
  • Passion for health improvement.

This RN will be based in the health center in Center City Philadelphia PA (4 days a week) and Newark DE (1 day a week).
