Job description

RiverTech is looking for a Low Voltage Technician (Subject Matter Expert) to work in South Burlington, VT. This position supports Department of Homeland Security (DHS), U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) in Vermont, providing support installation and maintenance of electronic security systems to include new installations and change of existing construction. Responsibilities * Operate as the SME for USCIS on low voltage matters.
* Schedule testing services in designated facilities.
* Review building plans for accuracy of cabling and security setup.
* Note changes and deficiencies to projects and making corrections after it has been approved by the project manager assigned to the project.
* Support security meetings by attending the meeting and providing expertise.
* Creates security cabling requirements into existing Statement of Work.
* Coordinates security vulnerability scanning designated Operations Center and domain.
* Operates as the point of contact between designated facilities and divisions when providing technical support.
* Maintains a positive relationship with outside vendors.
* Provides support to Electronic Security Engineer during Access Control System deployments.
* Tracks and research information pertaining to Access Control, Intrusion Detection, and
* Video surveillance for all designated facilities.
* Other duties could require:
* Review the installation of low voltage cable and systems for electronic equipment and communication devices.
* Inspect security cable installations remote or on-site.
* Review analog installations for facilities.
* Provides technical plans to support Security application and systems.
* Provides a cost estimate by creating a bill of material for IT-related infrastructure. Qualifications * High School Diploma or GED required with minimum of three (3) years of relevant experience.
* Experience in cabling (Cat5/Cat6) and cable installation, and rack-and-stack of switches, servers, panels, and workstations.
* Experience/Familiarity with supporting and/or installing electronic security systems (Access Control Systems (ACS), Video Surveillance Systems (VSS), Intrusion Detection Systems (IDS))
* Proficient in security systems and reading technical drawings and reviewing building plans for accuracy of cabling and security setup.
* Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, and SharePoint or similar collaboration tools.
* Ability to support security meetings by attending the meeting and providing expertise.
* Ability to conduct onsite inspections for scheduling testing services.
* Ability to provide project management support to manage projects.
* Strong organizational, communication, and customer service skills with proven ability to produce clear written correspondence and documentation.
* Demonstrated ability to work independently or collaboratively within cross-functional teams under minimal supervision.
* Must be a U.S. citizen and able to obtain and maintain Secret clearance eligibility.
* Valid U.S. driver's license as driving is required within the state for this position.
Desired Qualifications: * Electrical experience is a plus.
* Familiarity with security vendors such as C-cure 9000, Gallagher Command Center, Lenel, Milestone Network Video.
