Westsächsische Hochschule Zwickau (WHZ) is organizing an intensive one-week workshop that will take place within the framework of the EU project Made In Platform for Contemporary Crafts & Design between September 20 and 27 in Schneeberg

The organizer invites younger audiences who are interested in the topics of design, handicrafts and art to apply. The workshops offer the opportunity to explore the wood material experimentally under the guidance of mentors who encourage with their supportive skills in engineering, craft and design. Lectures, workshops and field trips help create an insight into what design studies or craft training might look like.

The workshops will take place in two periods:

  • 2nd term: 23 Sep – 27 Sep 2024 (arrival 22 September + departure 28 September)

The wish of the organizers of the workshop is to move the boundaries of the use of wood material and its processing methods in the twenty-first century in a beautiful, intelligent and convincing way. The series of workshops will take place within the EU project Made In Platform for Contemporary Crafts & Design, and the results will be shown at two exhibitions in Ljubljana, Slovenia and in Schneeberg, Germany in 2025.

Who can apply?

Applicants must be over 18 years of age at the time of application, have a good command of English as all sessions will be held in English, be able to attend courses throughout the week, live in Europe and be able to travel within Europe.
