Job description

Reports to: Director of Facilities or Facilities Supervisor

Job Overview:

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented School Custodian to join our team. As a School Custodian, you will play a critical role in maintaining cleanliness and creating a safe environment for students, staff, and visitors. Your primary responsibilities will include performing a variety of cleaning tasks, implementing sanitation protocols, and assisting with facility maintenance. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a strong work ethic, excellent time management skills, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform routine cleaning duties: Sweep, mop, and vacuum floors; clean and disinfect classrooms, hallways, restrooms, and other common areas; sanitize surfaces and touchpoints; empty trash and recycling bins regularly.

  • Respond to urgent cleaning needs: Address spills, stains, and other immediate cleaning requirements promptly to prevent accidents and maintain cleanliness standards.

  • Assist with setup and breakdown of events as needed such as school lectures, meetings, plays, etc.

  • Perform other duties as needed

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in custodial or cleaning services is preferred, but not mandatory.
