Job description

Associate – Janitorial Services
Position Objective: This position is responsible for cleaning and servicing assigned areas in offices, break rooms, and bathrooms in a warehouse facility. As well as sweeping, vacuuming, buffing floors, emptying trash containers and replacing lining of trash cans as needed. Position works rotating weekends.
Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Provide immaculate cleaning services throughout the warehouse facility
  • Maintain clean buildings by empting trash, sweeping, mopping, and cleaning surfaces
  • Dust and clean furniture, mirrors, walls, machines, and equipment
  • Periodically, strip, seal, wax and buff floors using buffing machine
  • Clean and keep break room areas and/or floors neat and tidy
  • Clean and service restrooms with rags, brushes, mops and disinfectants
  • Replenish supplies i.e., soap, towels and other dispensable items
  • Mix various cleaning agents and use cleaning solution to remove stain and clean surfaces.
  • Identify, and report possible repairs and/or negative conditions
  • Maintain building security/safety by performing task i.e., locking doors after operating hours and checking electrical appliances after cleaning to ensure that hazards are not created
  • Operate equipment required to perform or travel to cleaning work, including vans, powered and/or hand operated industrial pallet jack
  • Attend to emergencies and perform other job-related duties as necessary.
Qualifications:
  • Previous cleaning experience in an industrial setting
  • Must know how to use common housecleaning implements, such as mops, floor waxes and scouring pads, to keep areas clean and well serviced
  • Ability to tell when something is wrong or is likely to go wrong - It does not involve solving the problem, only recognizing there is a problem
  • Ability to endure long hours of continuous work when called upon to do so
  • Physical efforts required by the job includes: walking, standing, bending, stooping, pulling, pushing, and lifting up to 25 pounds.
  • Must know how to care for equipment, how to measure cleaning solutions, and be alert to hazards
  • Ability to follow oral and written instructions
  • Detailed and team oriented
  • Must be able to work independently and accomplish goals with little direct supervision.
  • Must be able to operate motorize pallet jack
