Job description

Iteris is looking to hire multiple Full-Time NCDOT Incident Management Assistance Patrol (IMAP) Trainers in Raleigh, NC areas to work on-site and support the North Carolina Department of Transportation with IMAP Training. The position would require serving as a trainer in the development of IMAP Training, participating in multi-agency collaborative TIM Training, and responding to major incidents as requested.

What you will be doing:

  • Perform training to ensure all IMAP responders and supervisors are provided initial and recurring training, testing and certification to ensure providing safety of the IMAP driver and the general public
  • Support and facilitate statewide and regional Traffic Incident Management (TIM) activities, including first responder training, compile training and operational data and prepare reports for management review, and assist with coordination between clients and stakeholders under supervisor direction at both statewide and regional levels
  • Identify opportunities for program improvement and communicate observations to management for review and approval
  • Provide training-related support, reporting, and documentation related to statewide and regional incident management initiatives
  • Participate in regional TIM meetings and other stakeholder and internal meetings
  • Assist with TIM programs, which may include quick clearance initiatives and innovations, conducting after-action reviews, planning and facilitating program meetings, and leading planned outreach efforts
  • Provide technical assistance, advice, data analytics, reporting, program enhancement recommendations, and guidance related to statewide and regional incident management initiatives
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure continuity of operations when stationed resources are limited
  • Perform other IMAP/TIM related duties as assigned by the supervisor

What you need to be successful in this role:

  • High School Diploma preferred
  • Three to four (3-4) years experience of training experience in traffic operations, incident management, law enforcement, and/or emergency response
  • Previous field experience in traffic operations, incident management, law enforcements, and/or emergency response
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Word and Excel
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective interpersonal relationships
  • Flexibility to support client project activities outside of normal business hours as needed

Iteris anticipates paying an hourly rate between $37.50 and $41.50 for this role. Actual pay offered may be below or above these amounts, depending on the individual’s job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
