The Department of Diagnostic & Interventional Radiology at Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center is seeking a Board-Certified or Board-Eligible, fellowship-trained Breast Imaging Radiologist to join a nationally recognized multidisciplinary oncology team. This is an exciting opportunity to practice within a state-of-the-art academic cancer center dedicated to innovation, collaboration, and advancing the future of breast cancer detection and care.
The successful candidate will join a highly collegial team of dedicated breast imagers working alongside breast surgeons, medical oncologists, radiation oncologists, pathologists, and community outreach teams to deliver comprehensive, patient-centered breast imaging services. With continued expansion of breast imaging services across Western New York, including new dedicated breast imaging centers planned for 2027, this role offers the opportunity to contribute meaningfully to program growth, innovation, and community impact.
This position is ideal for a radiologist who values multidisciplinary collaboration, clinical excellence, advanced imaging technology, and compassionate patient care within a mission-driven academic environment.
What You'll Do
Provide expert interpretation across a full spectrum of breast imaging modalities
Perform and interpret digital breast tomosynthesis, breast ultrasound, and breast MRI studies
Conduct image-guided breast procedures including stereotactic, ultrasound-guided, and MRI-guided core biopsies
Perform radioactive seed localizations and support coordinated surgical planning
Deliver high-quality, patient-centered breast imaging care within a multidisciplinary oncology environment
Collaborate closely with breast surgeons, medical oncologists, radiation oncologists, pathologists, and supportive care teams
Participate in multidisciplinary conferences, tumor boards, and coordinated care planning
Partner with Roswell Park outreach initiatives focused on improving breast cancer screening participation within the community
Foster strong working relationships across departments and clinical teams
Support the continued expansion of Roswell Park's breast imaging services and satellite imaging centers
Contribute to innovative imaging initiatives and advancements in breast cancer detection and diagnosis
Participate in academic, quality improvement, and operational initiatives supporting departmental growth
Foster a culture aligned with High Reliability Organization principles emphasizing excellence, accountability, patient safety, and teamwork
About the Department
The Department of Diagnostic & Interventional Radiology at Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center includes more than 30 clinical radiology faculty and seven dedicated breast imaging specialists practicing within a highly collaborative oncologic imaging environment. The department supports advanced diagnostic and interventional imaging services across the institution and plays a vital role in multidisciplinary cancer care and translational innovation.
The primary Breast Imaging Center is located within the Scott Bieler Clinical Sciences Center adjacent to Roswell Park's downtown campus. Additional expansion is underway, including a newly updated dedicated breast imaging center with breast MRI capabilities opening in Amherst in 2027, as well as a second satellite breast imaging site planned for the same year.

License and Certification Requirement
1. License to practice as a Medical Doctor in the State of New York.
2. Possession of or eligibility for a valid medical specialty certificate in Diagnostic Imaging or the specialties of Body Imaging, Diagnostic Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI), Mammography, Nuclear Medicine, Neuroradiology or Angio/Interventional Radiology.
Education and Experience
Medical Doctor degree and prior full-time experience in the field of Diagnostic Imaging or the specialties of Body Imaging, Diagnostic Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI), Mammography, Nuclear Medicine, Neuroradiology, or Angio/Interventional Radiology.
NOTE:
Degrees must be conferred by an accredited school, college, or university, or by an institution recognized by Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center and/or Health Research Incorporated as adhering to acceptable educational standards.
