Diagnostic Imaging Assistant

Children's Minnesota is one of the largest pediatric health systems in the United States and the only health system in Minnesota to provide care exclusively to children, from before birth through young adulthood. An independent and not-for-profit system since 1924, Children's Minnesota is one system serving kids throughout the Upper Midwest at two free-standing hospitals, nine primary care clinics, multiple specialty clinics and seven rehabilitation sites. The Diagnostic Imaging Assistant promotes a positive patient and family experience as the first impression of the Diagnostic Imaging department by creating a welcoming atmosphere to all patients, families and providers. The Diagnostic Imaging Assistant is responsible for the efficient and orderly registration and check-in of patients and acts as a liaison between patients, families and hospital staff. Obtains accurate and complete patient demographic information and required consents before notifying appropriate modalities of the patient's arrival. Supports Children's departments and clinics in uploading images for future referred patients, as well as sending images and reports to outside facilities for continuation of care.

License/Certification/Registration required? No

Education: High school diploma or equivalent required

Experience: One year of customer service experience required Previous experience with medical imaging software applications and the staff and vendors whose work relates to those systems One year of medical office setting experience preferred Experience in a Diagnostic Imaging setting preferred

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: Exceptional customer service skills Communicate and interact in respectful and professional manner Contribute to positive clinic team work environment Proper spelling and grammar Ability to perform front desk clinic functions Computer knowledge and navigating HIPAA knowledge and ability to handle confidential information Demonstrate prompt and reliable attendance Apply logical thinking to problem solve Ability to multi-task and prioritize work
