Location: Brooklyn, NY
Assignment Duration: 9 Weeks (Potential for Extension)
Employment Type: Contract

Compensation

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Mammography Technologist to join a busy breast imaging department. The ideal candidate will perform high-quality screening and diagnostic mammography examinations while ensuring exceptional patient care, image quality, and compliance with departmental and regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform routine screening and diagnostic mammography examinations.
  • Position patients accurately and perform proper breast compression techniques to obtain high-quality diagnostic images.
  • Select appropriate technical factors and imaging techniques based on patient needs.
  • Evaluate mammographic images for technical quality and repeat studies when necessary.
  • Ensure all radiographic images are accurately labeled according to departmental policies and procedures.
  • Transmit completed studies to the PACS system in a timely manner.
  • Complete all required imaging documentation within the IDX system.
  • Maintain accurate patient tracking and documentation throughout the imaging process.
  • Educate patients regarding mammography procedures and promote patient comfort and safety.
  • Adhere to MQSA, radiation safety, infection prevention, and quality assurance standards.
  • Maintain imaging equipment and ensure examination rooms are properly stocked and organized.
  • Collaborate with radiologists and the healthcare team to provide high-quality diagnostic services.
Required Qualifications

Education

  • Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology program.

Experience

  • Previous experience performing screening and diagnostic mammography preferred.
  • Experience in a hospital or outpatient breast imaging setting is preferred.
Required Licensure & Certifications
  • Active New York State License in Diagnostic Radiography.
  • Current American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) certification.
  • Must meet and maintain Mammography Quality Standards Act (MQSA) requirements.
