Position Description:

The Systems Administrator is responsible for the management, security, and maintenance of a dedicated Windows-based environment consisting of IIS Web Servers and Microsoft SQL Server databases.

The Systems Administrator will be responsible for the full lifecycle of these servers - from standard OS maintenance and rigorous Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIG) hardening to code deployments and database schema updates.

Responsibilities:

         Web Server Administration: Configure, optimize, and maintain Microsoft IIS environments, managing SSL/TLS certificates, application pools, and site bindings.

         Database Management: Administer Microsoft SQL Server, ensuring daily database availability, monitoring performance, and executing regular backup/recovery validation.

         Security Hardening & STIGs: Apply and maintain DISA STIGs specific to Windows Server, IIS, and MS SQL Server; remediate vulnerabilities identified by ACAS scans.

         Documentation & RMF: Create and maintain comprehensive system topology diagrams, baseline configurations, port lists, and standard operating procedures (SOPs) required for Risk Management Framework (RMF) accreditation.

         Code & DB Deployments: Manually push application code updates to IIS and execute database changes (such as running SQL scripts, modifying schemas, and updating stored procedures).

         Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve complex application, database, and OS-level faults to maintain system uptime.

Qualifications:

         Education: Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree and 6 years of relevant experience or High School Diploma and minimum of 10 years of experience.

         Experience: Three to five years of experience administering Windows Server environments with a specific focus on IIS and MS SQL Server management.

         Experience with database re-engineering, system integration, verification, validation, and process improvement on complex systems.

         Experience with Database Management including administering Microsoft SQL Server, ensuring daily database availability, monitoring performance, and executing regular backup/recovery validation.

         Experience developing documentation & RMF including creating and maintaining comprehensive system topology diagrams, baseline configurations, port lists, and standard operating procedures (SOPs) required for Risk Management Framework (RMF) accreditation.

         Prefer experience in web development (using .NET Framework MVC. Languages include C#, HTML, JavaScript, JQuery), database design, and object-oriented programming.

         Technical Skills: Deep familiarity with IIS configuration and SQL querying/scripting.

         Computing Environment: Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate (MCSA), modern Azure/Windows Server certification, or documented equivalent training.

         Baseline Cert:  CompTIA Security+ CE (or other approved IAT Level II baseline certificate).

         Active Secret Security Clearance
