JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY
The Personal Care Worker/Homemaker - Health Maintenance Attendant provides supportive and personal care services for the clients with consideration of dignity and privacy.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS/RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsibilities of the IHSS Attendant include:
• Providing personal care including:
• Bathing
• Oral hygiene
• Shampooing
• Changing bed linen
• Assisting patients with dressing and undressing
• Assisting patients with toileting activities
• Keeping patient's living area clean and orderly, as appropriate
• Planning and preparing nutritious meals, as appropriate.
• Assisting in feeding, if necessary.
• Assisting in ambulation, according to the care plan.
• Doing patient's laundry, as appropriate.
• Meeting safety needs of patients and using equipment safely and properly (foot stools, side rails, etc.). • Reporting on patient's condition and significant changes to the assigned nurse.
• Adhering to Aveanna's documentation and care procedures and standards of personal and professional conduct.
• Must be able to fulfill essential job function in a consistent state of alertness and safe manner.
• Follow and comply with all Aveanna safety rules and practices.
• Health maintenance activities.

• Excellent observation, verbal, and written communication skills, problem solving skills, basic math skills; personal care skills per competency checklist.
