Job description

Control Engineer

Control systems integrator as well as a distributor of automation products needs a Controls Engineer in the Dallas - Fort Worth, TX area. Their focus is on the plastics industry in the Midwest and TX and they're looking to add a Controls Engineer to their team.
Your primary function will be to manage engineering projects as well as design, construct, and install automation solutions as required by the company's customers.
Duties will include:

  • PLC and HMI Programming (preference will be given to Allen Bradley and Ignition)
  • PLC upgrades and retrofits
  • Drives systems design
  • Electrical panel design
  • Plant networking
  • Developing a bill of materials
  • Developing engineering drawings using AutoCAD
  • System start-up
  • Assisting Service Technicians in troubleshooting machinery when required

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in a technical discipline such as engineering or computer science (ie: BSEE, BSCS, BSEET)
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience performing engineering duties related to the application and installation of automation equipment on machinery. This includes PLC and HMI programming (preference will be given to Allen Bradley and Ignition)
  • Good understanding of AC and DC Drives, Motion Control, PLCs and HMI products as to how they are configured and programmed
  • Networking experience
  • AutoCAD experience
  • Able to interact well with clients
  • SCADA experience a plus
  • Visual Basic experience a plus
  • Plastics Industry experience is preferred
  • Must be willing to travel 10%
