Battle Ground Academy Driver Position

Battle Ground Academy is a coeducational, college preparatory, independent school serving students in grades PreK-12 in historic Franklin, Tennessee. Founded in 1889, BGA is the oldest PreK-12 independent school in Williamson County. The school's mission to ignite and nurture student curiosity, intellect, and character drives dynamic academic programs in an inclusive and welcoming learning community.

Position Summary: BGA seeks dependable drivers with both P and S endorsements to transport students for sports games, events, and local routes to school in the morning and afternoon.

Essential Duties, Responsibilities, and Skills:

  • Drive safely along designated routes.
  • Obey traffic laws, safety procedures, and transit regulations.
  • Pick up and drop off passengers at designated locations.
  • Communicate with passengers and employers regarding delays or any issues along a route.
  • Be familiar with bus routes, schedules, and general areas, keeping routes on time.
  • Promote safety at all times by keeping the first aid kit and emergency road kits fully stocked.
  • Ensure proper loading, unloading, and tracking of children.
  • Ensure the use of child safety restraints required by state law.
  • Ensure proper verification procedures for evacuation of the vehicle based on the type of vehicle and the ages of the children served.

Requirements:

• CDL with P and S endorsement is required.

• Experience and knowledge of driving a bus.

• Clean driving and ability to pass background checks.
