Full-time & Part-time prep cook positions are now being filled at our IGC Cafe located in the Indiana Government Center. Shifts available Monday - Friday 6:00am - 2:30pm (shifts vary).


Closed Weekends & Holidays!


The prep cook is responsible for providing support to cafeteria stations and grab n go for preparation of meals and ingredients. Assembling produce, cooking/heating of product, chopping, dicing, packing and labeling of produces both front of house & back of house. The prep cook is responsible for quality control, food safety and sanitation. Starting rate up to $16.00 an hour! Requirements

  • Arrives in proper uniform and adheres to all grooming standards.
  • Sets up station according to cafe guidelines.
  • Prepares all food items as directed in a sanitary and timely manner.
  • Follows portion control and presentation specifications as set by the cafe.
  • Restocks all items as needed throughout shift.
  • Cleans and maintains station in practicing good safety, sanitation, and organizational skills.
  • Has understanding and knowledge to properly use and maintain all equipment in kitchen.
  • Ensure quality and safety of food by performing standard and any additional sanitary measures including sweeping of the floors, cleaning of surfaces, as well as proper covering and storage of food items according to standards and procedures.
  • Work at efficient and consistent pace.
  • Knowledge of methods and procedures for serving food, principles of sanitation, and principles of safe food handling required.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Highly flexible, with solid interpersonal skills that allow one to work effectively in a diverse working environment.
  • Attention to detail in all areas of work.
  • Superior time management skills, multitasking skills, and the ability to prioritize tasks with minimal supervision.
  • Has the ability to deal with changes.
  • Willingness to assist in other tasks when asked.
  • Prior work in a high volume kitchen preferred but not required.
