Job Description

Olsson's Facility Engineering and Design (FED) Team is at the forefront of engineering innovation, providing comprehensive services for data centers, healthcare facilities, large commercial developments, educational institutions, and military installations. Our expertise includes technical analysis, design services, and professional consulting, ensuring top-tier quality and world class installations. As a member of this team, you will contribute to diverse, high-impact projects, delivering engineering solutions that make a tangible difference in communities and industries.

As a Telecom Designer for Olsson on the FED Team, you will be responsible for working in a collaborative design environment to design low voltage, telecommunications, and audio/visual systems within the built environment. This will include but is not limited to the following: layout of MDF/IDF/Demarc rooms, horizontal cabling design and specifications, Wireless Access Control, Security and Access Control, Surveillance, audio/visual systems, nurse call, and other low voltage systems. You will specialize in Telecom, Security, Audio/Visual Design and will also help with other electrical design projects as needed.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Utilize CAD/BIM software to support intricate engineering designs, focusing on data center and building systems cable routing, equipment layouts, and communication systems.
  • Contribute to projects under the guidance of experienced designers, ensuring high-quality outputs and innovative solutions.
  • Assist in managing project components, paying close attention to detail and precision from start to finish.
  • Participate in client meetings, showcasing Olsson's commitment to excellence and strong partnerships.
  • Be prepared to travel to job sites as necessary, adapting to various conditions to achieve project success.
