Job description


Job Title: ICT Design Engineer

Duration: 12 Months — Hybrid

Location/s: Seattle, WA OR Herndon/Ashburn, VA OR Austin, TX


Seeking an ICT Design Engineer responsible for supporting major data center infrastructure projects.


Key Responsibilities

  • Infrastructure Design: Develop scalable inside- and outside-plant (ISP/OSP) telecommunications pathway, space, cabling, and layout designs along with construction specifications.
  • Cross-Disciplinary Coordination: Partner with MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing) and CSA (Civil, Structural, Architectural) teams to resolve spatial and design conflicts.
  • Submittal Management & CA: Review and approve ICT submittals, vendor shop drawings, manage RFIs, and perform construction administration.
  • Field Audits & Expediting: Conduct field surveys, generate site reports, and collaborate with construction teams on expedited engineering solutions (requires up to 2 site visits).
  • Risk & Standards Compliance: Identify technical risks rapidly, escalate issues appropriately, and ensure all designs comply with industry standards and building codes.


Must-Haves (Basic Qualifications):

  • BICSI RCDD certification (or international equivalent like CDCDP or DCDC).
  • 5+ years of ICT design experience in mission-critical facilities.
  • 5+ years of experience developing design/permitting documentation.
  • 5+ years of experience with fiber optic components, cabling, and standards.
  • Basic MS Office proficiency (Word, Excel, Outlook).


Nice-to-Haves (Preferred Qualifications):

  • Experience with AutoCAD, Revit, and Bluebeam Revu.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license.
  • Knowledge of regional building codes and regulations.
