Key Responsibilities
The Technology Designer supports the planning, design, and coordination of integrated technology systems for projects across multiple markets. This role works closely with clients, architects, engineers, and internal project teams to deliver high-quality ICT solutions while contributing to HEAPY Solutions' collaborative, colleague-first culture.
What You'll Do
  • Design integrated technology systems including structured cabling, networking, audio-visual, security, and other ICT infrastructure for a variety of building projects.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary project teams to develop technology solutions that meet client goals, project requirements, and industry standards.
  • Prepare design documentation, specifications, calculations, and technical reports while supporting projects from concept through construction.
  • Perform field observations, review shop drawings and submittals, and help ensure successful project execution through quality-focused design and coordination.

Physical Demands & Work Environment
QUALIFICATIONS
Normally requires a high school diploma along with a combination of education, experience, and technical knowledge related to integrated technology systems design in the built environment.
We're looking for someone who has:
  • Experience designing integrated technology systems such as structured cabling, networking, audio-visual, security, or other ICT systems.
  • Experience using industry-standard design software and technology design tools.
  • Strong understanding of technology system design principles, documentation, and coordination within building projects.
  • Ability to prepare technical drawings, specifications, calculations, and supporting project documentation.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills with clients, architects, engineers, contractors, and internal project teams.
  • Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • A commitment to continuous learning and professional development. Pursuit of or attainment of Registered Communications Distribution Designer (RCDD) certification is preferred.
