Armed Hybrid Security Responder

Role: SEI is seeking an Armed Hybrid Security Responder to help safeguard people and property through armed patrols, access control, surveillance monitoring, emergency response, and professional customer service. This position requires sound judgment, accurate reporting, compliance with all applicable licensing, training, certification, and legal requirements, and the ability to perform armed security duties in accordance with the laws, regulations, and requirements of the state or jurisdiction where assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Must have or be able to obtain and maintain all required security licenses, registrations, permits, and/or credentials for the state or jurisdiction where assigned.
  • Must be 21 years of age or older.
  • Must complete all required armed security and firearms training and maintain any required firearms permits, certifications, qualifications, or authorizations in accordance with applicable state or jurisdictional requirements.
  • Must be able to successfully complete and maintain current First Aid, CPR, and AED certifications as required by company policy, client requirements, or applicable regulations.
  • Valid driver’s license and a Motor Vehicle Record that meets company-approved driver standards.
  • Must be able to travel regularly.
  • Prior military, law enforcement, first responder, or armed security experience preferred. Retirees welcome.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Perform walking and vehicle patrols to identify and report safety or security concerns.
  • Monitor access points, verify IDs and credentials, and enforce Security Post Instructions.
  • Respond to alarms, emergencies, and incidents according to protocol.
  • Complete accurate logs, reports, and routine security tasks such as locking/unlocking doors, managing security systems, and monitoring surveillance.
  • Assist visitors and employees professionally while enforcing SEI and client policies.

Maintain a clean, pressed uniform and professional appearance.

Required Skills & Abilities:

  • Ability to work in fast-paced, high-stress environments.
  • Availability to work weekends as needed.
  • Strong situational awareness, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to remain calm and de-escalate situations during critical incidents.
  • Basic computer skills and ability to use tablets or reporting systems.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Preferred:

  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Knowledge of access control systems.
  • Conflict resolution, de-escalation, active shooter response, FEMA ICS/NIMS, HAZMAT, or related specialized training.

Minimum Physical Requirements With or Without Reasonable Accommodation(Subject to change based on client-specific needs)

  • Stand for at least 1 hour without support or break
  • Sit for at least 1 hour without break
  • Walk at least ½ mile without stopping

Education & Experience:

Minimum:

  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience: 1+ years of verifiable security, military, or law enforcement experience.

Preferred:

  • Education: Associate degree or higher preferred.
  • Experience: 3+ years of verifiable security, military, or law enforcement experience preferred.
